Brendan is the Chief Investment Officer of (QP), the leader in setting up and managing single-family offices (“SFOs”) across all investments, estate planning, and family service functions. Prior to (QP), Brendan was CIO at Akkad Capital, a billionaire SFO making control investments in healthcare companies. Previously, Brendan was CIO of Ocean Road, a billionaire SFO, focusing on asset allocation, uncorrelated strategies, private equity deals and public equities. Prior to that, Brendan was sole Portfolio Manager of Legatum Capital, a multi-billion dollar SFO in Dubai. Brendan was also a partner of a Tudor hedge fund spinout, Oceanwood Capital. While at Oceanwood, Brendan started Oceanwood’s effort to buy failed banks, in partnership with Bill Isaac (Former FDIC Director) and Jack Ryan (former CEO of the RTC and Federal Reserve supervisory head). Brendan also worked at Owl Creek, a distressed debt fund. Prior to that Brendan helped Peter Thiel launch Clarium Capital. Brendan’s early career was as president of Xfiniti Capital, a global VC, associate at Windward Capital (CSFB Private Equity), and analyst at Merrill Lynch’s M&A group. Brendan is a cum laude graduate of Bates College with a BA in Economics, a General Course graduate from the London School of Economics, and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School. Institutional Investor awarded Brendan the Hedge Fund Rising Star award and nominated Ocean Road for Family Office of the Year under his leadership. He was also named a Top 30 Family Office Chief Investment Officer by Trusted Insight. Brendan is co-host of the family office podcast, the Family Ledger. Brendan co-authored the Biden Administration’s Semiconductor Policy, which later became the CHIPS Act.
