Andrew M. Katzenstein is principal of The Estate Whisperer LLC, a consulting firm through which he is retained to assist accounting firms, business managers, high net worth families and their family offices on matters related to estate planning, charitable planning, post-death administration of assets, and estate litigation matters. He guest lectures on those topics across the United States. Andy also teaches Estate and Gift Tax at the UC Irvine School of Law in the LL.M program.

Andy graduated from the University of Michigan magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science in 1979 and from the University of Michigan Law School in 1982 with high honors. He received his LL.M in Taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1990.

Andy was a partner at Proskauer Rose LLP in the Private Client Services Department for over 18 years. He has served as Chair of the Beverly Hills Bar Association’s Probate and Trust Law Section, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Estate and Gift Tax Committee. He also taught Estate and Gift Tax at UCLA Law School for more than 15 years and at the USC Gould School of Law for more than 6 years. Andy is a member of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.
